‘Miss Universe’ 2014 Controversies REVEALED?! While Nia Sanchez Of USA Preps Up To Be The Next ‘Miss Universe’

The "Miss Universe" 2014 competition is heating up as its coronation night gets nearer. And Nia Sanchez of USA seems ready to be the next "Miss Universe" winner. And this 2015, it appears that the annual pageant has not been able to escape the controversies.

The 63rd Annual "Miss Universe" 2014 coronation is just 10 days away and the competition between the beauties who are vying for the crown intensifies. Among the early crowd favorite and top contender of the pageant is 24-year-old Nia Sanchez who represents the United States.

Nia Sanchez is an American Tae Kwon Do black belter and a certified instructor. As we previously reported, she entered the pageant world at a very young age. She has also been a model and a princess character at Disney World. She is also the first American candidate from Nevada to ever represent the nation in one of the world's most prestigious beauty contests.

Over the weekend, Las Vegas Sun revealed that Nia Sanchez and the other "Miss Universe" 2014 candidates were introduced to the media and fans during the Parade of Nations event. Though she admits that the pageant world tends to get crazy, she still expresses gratitude to her "Miss Nevada USA" Pageant Director Shanna Moakler, her "Miss Teen Nevada USA" sister Alexa Taylor and her fiancé  Daniel Booko.

"My life has completely changed," Sanchez said about her experience as the "Miss USA" winner and being America's candidate to the "Miss Universe" 2014 pageant. "It's been an unforgettable year, and I can't believe I am now competing in 'Miss Universe.'"

As of the moment, Nia Sanchez is prepping up for the three-hour "Miss Universe" 2014 pageant on NBC on Jan. 25, Sunday. It will be hosted by Natalie Morales and Thomas Roberts. Sanchez and the other candidates will be judged by Manny Pacquiao, Lisa Vanderpump, Kristin Cavallari, Louise Roe and William Levy. While multi-talented singers Prince Royce and Nick Jonas are set to serenade during the coronation night.

However, it seems that there will always be controversies surrounding a "Miss Universe" pageant. And this 2015 is no different. The Las Vegas Sun reported that the City of Doral residents are disappointed with the $2.5 million payment to provide support to the show. But what really has sparked the controversies was when Grace Levy of Great Britain showed her national costume on her Facebook.

According to some critics, the costume, which was a very short mini-skirt version of the Buckingham Palace's Royal Guards, was cheap and tacky. They also urged the Queen to kick Grace Levy out of the country. However, Levy seems to be unfazed by the negative criticisms.

Meanwhile, USA's Nia Sanchez remains to be among the "Miss Universe" 2014 strong contenders. But will she win the crown?
