New York Fashion Week 2015 - It is the time of the year again where fashion industry's bigwigs unite for one extravagant and spectacular fashion event. The New York Fashion Week (NYFW) will be a series of events that generally lasts for a week or more (7 to 9 days).

The New York Fashion Week 2015 is one of the four fashion weeks in the world. Collectively known as the fashion industry's "Big 4," along with those on Paris, Milan and London. During the event, big international fashion brands will showcase their collections to the press, interested buyers and general public.

Several celebrities have collaborated with major brands for the New York Fashion Week 2015. According to Forbes, singers Kanye West, Beyoncé and Rihanna teamed up with Adidas, Topshop and PUMA respectively and will be launching their lines on the NYFW runway.

The New York Fashion Week 2015 is set to kick off on Thursday. Though E! News shared it will be the last time the Lincoln Center will host the NYFW, its foreseen return to Bryant Park in September will surely stir in some nostalgic moments.

Among the biggest names to grace the NYFW this year are Alexander Wang, Jason Wu, Marc Jacobs, Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Diane Von Furstenberg, Donna Karan, Prabal Gurung, Vera Wang, Michael Kors, Victoria Beckham and Zac Posen. While young designers such as Thomas Wylde Maison, Ready to Fish and Thaddeus O'Neil will also flaunt their creations, The Daily Mail revealed.

Aside from runway fashion, charity fashion shows and auctions are also expected. British supermodel Naomi Campbell will host an event to raise money for Ebola victims. While Donna Karan and former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg will highlight efforts to end gun crime and save lives called, "Peace Bomb" project.

While the New York Fashion Week always features runway models, this 2015, it will be making history by breaking boundaries and setting a remarkable example in featuring Jamie Brewer, the first woman with Down syndrome to strut the catwalk, Hollywood Life reported.

Jamie Brewer, best known for appearing in "American Horror Story," will be modeling original design by Carrie Hammer as part of the designer's "Role Models Not Runway Models" campaign. As per The Huffington Post, the campaign that started at NYFW last year, aims to represent real women in society, instead of glorifying an industry known for unrealistic beauty standards and a real dearth in model diversity.

Meanwhile, New York Fashion Week 2015 is a citywide series of twice-annually occurring fashion events.
