Ahmad ‘Real’ Givens Succumbs To Cancer At 33: Brother Chance Poignant Instagram Tribute

Ahmad "Real" Givens has died after his two-year battle with cancer. His death was announced Saturday by VH1, where he appeared on a dating show, "Real Chance of Love" along with his brother, Kamal "Chance" Givens, which aired on the network. Chance then posted a poignant tribute to his brother via photo-sharing site, Instagram.

In 2013, Ahmad Givens was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. He underwent surgery and things have gone quite well until earlier this year when the cancer returned. He then began chemotherapy treatments. However, his condition worsened after he took a fall in January and had been bedridden ever since, TMZ reported.

During a family visit on Friday, Ahmad Givens' relatives had a feeling that the reality star's end was looming after he was having trouble with vision and speech. He eventually died a few hours later. According to CNN, the Stallionaire rapper died at the age of 33 and his death was announced by VH1 on Saturday through a statement on its official website.

"VH1 is incredibly sad to report that Stallionaire and 'Real Chance Of Love' star Ahmad 'Real' Givens has passed away from colon cancer," the network said on its website. "Our hearts go out to Real's brother Chance and their loved ones, we'll truly miss this member of the VH1 family."

Despite his condition, Ahmad Givens had been active on social media, particularly on Instagram. Last Jan. 9, he thanked fans for their birthday wishes and said that he had not been feeling well. Almost exactly a year ago, Real also wrote a moving tribute to his wife, E! News revealed.

"If it wasn't for this beautiful woman, I don't know where if be or if I would be doing as well as I'm doing," an excerpt of what he wrote reads.

Meanwhile, Ahmad Givens' brother, Kamal or Chance, posted an emotional message on his on Instagram account.

"Bye to my favorite guy in this whole world be in peace we love you forever bro I'll see you one day soon we shall dance again in God's kingdom forever and ever bro words can't describe my pain world pray for me!" he wrote. In another post, he captioned, "R.I.P. Mahdi we love you forever I know you're in a better place I just ask lord to give me the strength to survive this world without you till we meet again your brother Kamal."

Ahmad Givens is survived by Chance and by two more brothers, his mother, grandmother and his wife, Racquel Givens and their son, Madhi.
