Apple iOS 6 brings appealing new features

Apple has announced their new operating system, iOS 6, and it has created quite a lot of buzz to say the least. Over 200 features will be provided and they are impressive and definitely have a lot to offer. The following are just a few of the highlighted features that the new iOS 6 will bring:

Passbook

During the WWDC 2012, the Apple iOS 6 came with the introduction of a new Passbook feature that allows users to store and quickly access electronic versions of all their tickets, boarding passes, coupons, and merchant cards in one place. "Passbook is the simplest way to get all your passes in one place," Senior Vice President of iPhone Software at Apple Scott Forstall said, during the live demo. Passbook will even alert you if your gate changes after you've checked in for a flight!

Enhanced phone apps

Often forget to call someone back after you miss their call? Well, with the new Missed Call app, you can set yourself an instant reminder to call the person back. The new Do Not Disturb mode is yet another new app; when new messages arrive, this occurs silently and without the screen lighting up. You can even tell your iPhone not to silence calls from a list of favorite callers or automatically silent repeat calls from the same person.

Facetime over cellular

Facetime is a video calling (video telephone) software application developed by Apple Inc. and was released in 2010. Finally, with iOS6, you can make and receive Facetime calls wherever you happen to be, no longer restricting you to Wi-Fi.

A smarter Siri

There have been significant improvements made to Siri. Whether its sports questions like: "Who is taller, Lebron or Kobe?" Or inquiries related to restaurants such as: "Where is a great place for dinner?" Siri has gotten a lot smarter and can provide you with the answers. Siri has partnered with Yelp and OpenTable and will sort listings by the ratings, make you dinner reservations , and so much more. The feature will also be more international and for the first time ever, Siri will be on the NEW iPad.

A highlight of 2013 is Siri's integration with some car companies. The new Eyes Free feature will put a Siri button on the steering wheel of Jaguars, Land Rovers, BMWs, Mercedes, Toyotas, Chryslers, Hondas, Audis and GM vehicles. The manufacturers have promised to support the feature in the next 12 months.

New Maps app.

Scoot over GoogleMaps... ALL the way over... because with the new Apple mapping system, there will be a lot more to offer. Offering a map that's clearer than ever, turn by turn navigation and a map of practically all countries, the #1 search engine won't be too happy about its map feature being shoved to the side soon.

Facebook integration

Apple has promised "the best Facebook integration ever in a mobile device." It will be much easier to post to Facebook from many of the apps. and will also be integrated with Siri and the App store as well. If your hands are full, simply ask Siri to post a status update for you. You can share Apps and see what Apps your friends like; in addition, Facebook events and birthdays will appear in your calendar.

Accessibility: Guided Access

The guided Access is a feature that has appeared to have received a lot of praise. It enables you to disable certain parts of the screen so that children won't accidentally hit the wrong buttons. Not only focused on kids, but individuals with vision, hearing, learning, and mobility disabilities will be able to get the most out of the device now.

The iOS 6 will be released this Fall.
