Sony: Free PlayStation 3, Vita Game Consoles to Students

Sony Corp. has started a campaign that is intended to popularize PlayStation among American students.

The company has stated that students who buy Sony Vaio personal computers can get a free PlayStation video game console, a $200 discount on PlayStation-branded hardware or software, or save 8% on the PC itself.

The most reasonably priced notebook participating in the campaign costs around $750, with a free PlayStation 3 or PlayStation Vita their value increases significantly. It's fair to even say that neither the PS3 or the PS Vita are good necessary for learning.

Microsoft has been known to provide its own offerings with the Xbox 360. Microsoft Corp. gives students free Xbox 360 4GB game consoles with a purchase of select Windows 7-based PCs in select locations at this time of the year, and Apple, which offers savings and/or gift cards with the purchase of Macintosh PCs from June to September
