Adam Sandler To Meet With Cancer Patient Next Week, To Be Part Of Netflix's Feature 'The Ridiculous Six'

Adam Sandler has gone the extra mile and responded to one of his fan's wishes, who has been suffering from cancer.

Melbourne native Gaige Robbins, 19, has been battling non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, and one of his wishes is to see his favorite actor Adam Sandler.

The Robbins family told Florida Today that Adam Sandler called up their son last Tuesday night at the Health First's Holmes Regional Medical Center. At the time, Gaige was too sick to talk to Adam due to chemotherapy.

Shane Robbins, Gaige's mother, talked about her son's condition with the comedian. Upon hearing the teen's story, Sandler invited the whole family for a meet-and-greet in George, where the actor is currently filming "Ridiculous Six," his upcoming Netflix movie.

Shane added, "So when Adam called today, you could just see the pain in his face, his eyes watering up, trying to talk to Adam."

Gaige has been an avid fan of Sandler as he could not contain his excitement knowing he was just about to meet his role model soon.

In other news, Variety reported that Netflix is slowly establishing itself as a platform for feature films, which would start with Sandler's "The Ridiculous Six" and other delights such as "Beast of No Nation" and "Bridge of Spies" which would feature "Thor's" Idris Elba and Oscar-winner Tom Hanks, respectively.

The plot of "The Ridiculous Six" is still in the works, according to IMDB. Interestingly, it is the start of a four-film deal that Sandler has with Netflix. The film has high expectations since it will be star-studded. Names like "Twilight's" Taylor Lautner and "Deuce Bigalo: Male Gigolo's" Rob Schneider are expected to take part in the film being produced by Sandler's production company, Happy Madison.

Deadline reported that film is going to be directed by Franck Coraci and is set to be released nationwide on December 11.
