John Travolta Scandal: Gay and Libel Accusations Pile Up

In the midst of accusations of sexual harassment on various male masseurs, actor John Travolta was hit with a libel lawsuit on Thursday by a man who wrote a book about Travolta's supposed gay encounters.

Robert Randolph is accusing Travolta and his attorney, Martin Singer, of bashing his mental health and spreading false rumors in regards to the issue in 2010. He claims the two did this to convince the public not to purchase his then up and coming book.

Randolph is referencing a reply made by Travolta's rep in response to Randolph filing a case against the actor. Travolta's rep said, "To evaluate the credibility of Robert Randolph and his ridiculous lawsuit one need look no further than his own statements published on his website stating that he sustained "permanent brain damage" and had to 'retrain' his brain."

Randolph is seeking damages in the legal suit filed against Travolta in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Singer said that Randolph's lawsuit is "absurd" and is based on an unpublicized letter that was sent to a gossip blog's publisher.

"We intend to sue the attorney for malicious prosecution after the court promptly dismisses this baseless lawsuit," Singer said in a statement.

Randolph's book "You'll Never Spa in This Town Again" was published at the start of this year, only several months before two anonymous male masseurs also filed sexual assault cases against Travolta.

Travolta's spokesman said the new claims were "complete fiction." Both accusers soon dropped their cases in May, following doubts about whether the details of the alleged encounters were supported.

Despite rumors of Travolta continuously seeking out same sex relations, he has in fact been married to actress Kelly Preston for 11 years.
