‘Allegiant — Part 1’ Risks 30 Lives While Filming? Theo James Hints Plot Twist

Actors Theo James and Shailene Woodley started shooting "Allegiant — Part 1" in May, and a battle scene they were recently filming reportedly endangered the lives of at least 30 child actors, according to Realty Today.

The "Divergent" series fight scene was shot in Georgia. The children, some of them as young as four years old, were scrambling amidst more than 130 untrained adult extras wielding metal weapons, Deadline reported.

"Everyone seemed to know it was wrong, but no one was willing to speak up," a witness said after reporting the incident to a local network in Atlanta.

"To me, it seems that saving money — the expense of rubber props — took priority over safety. This particularly upset me before small children were involved," the witness added.

Some of the children were given medical attention after long hours on the set due to burnout, the same witness revealed.

The safety of the lead and extra actors is their priority, according to a Lionsgate spokesperson. This incident is reportedly being investigated, but as of this time, there are still no updates.

Meanwhile, James, who plays Four in the film series, hinted at possible changes in the plot of the movie. In an exclusive interview with Sugar Scape, he said that Woodley, whose character is Tris, will be giving birth to twins.

If this happens, it will be a total move away from the book's original conclusion. It would be a nice ending though — a classic example of "and they lived happily ever after." But obviously, James was only joking when he said this as previously reported

This dystopian film is based on Veronica Roth's "Divergent" trilogy novel. Joining James and Woodley in the big screen is Zoe Kravitz, who was recently spotted by Daily Mail taking a break from filming in New York.

Kravitz will reprise her role as Christina, while Ansel Elgort and Miles Teller will be returning as Caleb and Peter.

"Allegiant — Part 1" is slated to be released on March 18, 2016. The second part will hit theaters March 24, 2017.
