'Fifty Shades Darker' Cast UPDATE! SPOILER: 'Mad Max' Star Charlize Theron As Mrs. Robinson?

"Fifty Shades Darker" fanatics are once again on a roll as another big name surfaces to have reportedly joined the cast.

The name that goes afloat to portray the controversial Mrs. Robinson, the woman responsible for introducing BDSM (Bondage-Discipline/Domination-Submission/Sadism-Masochism) to Christian Grey is — wait for it — "Mad Max: Fury Road" actress Charlize Theron.

Despite having no director on board to take the helm for "Fifty Shades Darker," the premiere is already set to happen on February 2017 and production date was rumored to start on New Year's Day.

A report from Venture Capital Post detailed that the award-winning actress was being eyed for the role of Elena Lincoln aka Mrs. Robinson. In the book written by author E.L. James, Mrs. Robinson's relationship with Christian Grey in "Fifty Shades Darker" was purely business, but eventually she will make efforts to come between his fragile relationship with the naïve Anastasia Steele.

If the gossip were true, "Fifty Shades of Grey" will have a formidable cast which includes returning stars Jaime Dornan and Dakota Johnson, who will both be reprising their roles as Christian and Anastasia, respectively. Added to that, "Man of Steel" star Henry Cavill is also rumored to portray Anastasia's boss, Jack Hyde.

According to Latinos Post, aside from Charlize Theron, other stars rumored to be considered to portray Mrs. Robinson in "Fifty Shades Darker" are Hollywood big names, such as Angelina Jolie, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Cate Blanchett.

Meantime, back to the book "Fifty Shades Darker," Anastasia starts her new job as personal assistant to Jack Hyde, editor of Seattle Independent Publishing (SIP). Later in the book, it's revealed that Christian buys SIP, making him Anastasia's superior.

On the other hand, antagonist Elena Lincoln is introduced by Christian at a business party held in his estate. Tension follows as she and Anastasia meet for the first time since Anastasia already has insight on Lincoln's role in Christian's life. Soon after that, chaos follows their relationship.

It would be a challenge for the new director to make "Fifty Shades Darker" more enticing than its predecessor "Fifty Shades of Grey."

Charlize Theron has yet to confirm the speculations that she will join the cast of "Fifty Shades Darker."

Meanwhile, now that "Fifty Shades Darker" nears its production date, rumors surrounding the relationship of stars Jaime Dornan and Dakota Johnson have come abuzz again.

Fans still await to see if something more than the sensual reel romance that they have will transcend off-camera. Despite the circulating rumors, Jaime Dornan was quick to shut down the reports by insisting that he is loyal to his wife, Amelia Warner. He has also defended his wife from the jealousy issue hurled at her, as per Movie News Guide.
