Kristen Stewart Breaks Away From Bella Swan Character In 'American Ultra'; Former Lover Robert Pattinson Becomes A Journalist [SEE PHOTOS]

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have drifted apart a long time ago since the time they became an item. Nevertheless, both actors still get associated with each other every so often.

Stewart has moved on doing other challenging roles, while Pattinson is currently in a relationship with singer FKA Twigs.

In "American Ultra," an upcoming action thriller topbilled by Jesse Eisenberg and Stewart, Stewart plays a role that is a far cry from her Bella Swan character. In the movie, she plays Phoebe and sports a grunge-inspired look, neon-colored hair and an alternative attitude.

"American Ultra," directed by British Nima Nourizadeh, tells the adventures of a 'stoner' who recalls his past when he gets targeted by a government operation. The movie has been given an 'R' rating for "strong bloody violence, drug use, language throughout and some sexual content," as per Daily Mail.

According to Variety, Eisenberg's character, Mike Howell, is truly a secret agent that is highly trained but has no idea that he is so until he gets initiated when a CIA operative called him "Cherry Progressive" at a convenience shop, after he killed two operatives with a spoon. "I have a lot of anxiety about this," he informs his girlfriend, played by Stewart.

"American Ultra" is a reunion of sort for Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart who first worked together in the movie "Adventureland."

As for Kristen Stewart, her career has really progressed in recent years. She gave critically acclaimed portrayals in "Clouds of Sils Maria" which earned her a César award from France as best supporting actress, and "Still Alice."

Meanwhile, Robert Pattinson has been keeping himself busy by conducting an interview with friend and fellow Brit Jaime Bell for Interview magazine's latest issue.

The 29-year-old "Twilight star's" interview although expletive-laden fired away questions such as how the "Billy Elliot" star managed to steer away from dangers of being a child actor, as per People.

"I get asked a lot in interviews, you know, 'How come you're not, like ... in rehab or anything?' I probably should be," said Bell, who rocketed to fame after being chosen to play Billy Elliot at 14 years old."The pitfalls of child actors ... It was drilled into me when I was a kid: 'You have to be you, and you must be the best version of yourself.' "

"I think my demons are my demons, and we all have them, and we work on them," he added. "I'm always reminded to be humble and have humility. Because it's a great trait."

Pattinson illustrates Bell's spirit animal as "a very excitable lamb" and also added that he's also among the "most humble people he's ever met."

For Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, there's so much to life and career ahead after "Twilight."
