On The Eve Of Robin Williams' Birthday, Daughter Zelda Indefinitely Says Goodbye To Social Media

Robin Williams, a man of many talents would have turned 64 on his birthday, July 21. Sadly, he won't be around anymore to celebrate it. It's been almost a year since everyone's favorite genie, nanny and a lot more beloved characters, apparently took his own life. Robin Williams was said to have battled severe depression, as per CNN.

In relation to her late father, Robin Williams' natal day, Zelda Williams, 25, revealed that she will take an indefinite leave on social media.

Zelda Williams, whose mother is Marsha Garces, Robin Williams' second wife, has two other brothers, 23-year-old Cody and 32-year-old Zac, whose mother Valerie Velardi, was Robin's first wife.

Robin Williams' only daughter posted a melancholic message on her social media account telling her 368,000 followers that she is taking a hiatus on Instagram and Twitter on the eve of his birthday to take a break from the "opinions or sentiments of others."

"Kinda hoping I fly thru that very cloud on the way home," she wrote, alongside a portrait of the sun trying to break through a gloomy cloud, as per Daily Mail.

Zelda continued, “On another note, I will be taking a break from social media in the coming weeks. It's a time better served away from the opinions or sentiments of others, and I appreciate your understanding.”

“I understand there will be those who wish to leave messages regarding Dad on my board, but please attempt to be respectful and kind to one another in the process, both because I will not be here to delete or mediate trolling, and because kindness is in short supply these days,” she ended, as per Newsday.

Following the death of her father, Robin Williams, last year, People reported that Zelda also took it easy from social media after she was targeted by cyber bullies.

In her Instagram post last August, she hit back at Internet trolls, berating them for "judging me" and "mining our accounts for photos of dad" and for having posted less photo memorials.

Meanwhile Robin Williams’ costar in “The Crazy Ones,” posted a snap of herself with the late comedy actor as a tribute during the late actor's birthday.

She wrote, "Smile, though your heart is aching Smile, even though it's breaking Happy Birthday RW #RobinWilliams #HappyBirthdayRobin.”
