People are generally afraid to work for startup companies because the risk of unpredictability exists that they are not willing to take. However, once you take the leap of faith and give a startup a chance, you may find that it has more perks than you would have expected and that perhaps it is worth a try. Here are five reasons why working at a growing company could really be worth it:
1. Motivated employees and bosses
Being that startup companies are not exactly established in their industries yet, this leaves room for motivated employees who can bring the company to new heights. Since each employee essentially plays an important role in the company's overall aim, everyone is usually excited to reach the goal together. This promotes a motivating work atmosphere where teamwork is a big focus and helps makes the work experience a bit more rewarding.
2. Employee input is valued
The biggest goal of startup companies is growth and innovation. Therefore, these companies hire people who not only have good ideas, but who are willing to share them with the company and help build on its success. Startups typically seek employee advice on how to improve and are willing to hear and implement suggestions. This is very different from larger companies that already know what they want and would usually rather you keep your suggestions and ideas to yourself.

As the startup expands, so will your wallet. Employees who begin with a growing company and remain as it grows, typically end up getting pay increases as they continue to work there. Also, there is lots of opportunity to move up within the company and to have an even hirer position than you came in with.
4. Relaxed company culture
Startups usually have a very laidback company culture that promotes comfort around the office. This is important because being comfortable oftentimes helps employees' creativity to come more naturally, rather than in high-pressure work environments that usually force employees to be robotic.
5. Looks good on a resume
Working for a startup could look very impressive on a resume. If you work for one that grows to be successful, employers will see that you contributed in some way to the company's accomplishments and growth.
