Manny Pacquiao UPDATE: Next Fight MIght Pit Him Against Amir Khan, Lucas Matthysse; Pacman Foregoes Rehab

Boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao has made light of Bob Arum's criticism of his judgment to forego rehab for his shoulder injury which he sustained while training for the celebrated fight of the century last May with another boxing champion, Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Bob Arum, Manny Pacquiao's boxing promoter, scheduled an appointment with a therapist to find a resolve for the fighter's torn rotator cuff. Unfortunately, Pacman failed to appear prompting Arum to tag him as "irresponsible," as per International Business Times.

"[Manny Pacquiao] promised me he was leaving for the U.S. this weekend [July 18] which he's not," Arum told IB Times.

Furthermore, the Top Rank chief reportedly declared he was not scheduling Manny Pacquiao's next fight until doctors give a go signal that he's clear from danger.

According to Vine Report, Pacman's response to his promoter's statement was that he understood that Arum was only sharing his sentiments out of concern for his well-being. Although he appreciated the concern of Arum, Manny Pacquiao stated that he should not worry about anything for the reason that he will be undertaking his own personal rehab.

As quoted from a Yahoo! News interview, he said, "I'm recovering faster than expected."

Meanwhile, although no reports have been cleared yet on who Manny Pacquiao will fight next, the prized fighter has no intentions of hanging up his gloves anytime soon./. He said: "I can retire, but in my heart I'm happy to give honor to the Philppines, that's what encourages me as a boxer."

It is still definite though as per The Gospel Herald, that Manny Pacquiao will climb the ring again in 2016. Among the names that want to take a shot at Pacman is British boxer Amir Khan, who also announced a challenge a short time ago. Khan's response to Pacquiao's previous statement was that, "Look, if Manny wants to fight, we can do it, I've offered him and his team in the past, but they turned us down."

Another fighter who would be plausible for Manny Pacquiao is Lucas Matthysse. Matthysse will have to hurdle his battle against Vicktor Postol due in September. If he comes out victorious in this fight, he could move up to welterweight division to challenge Manny Pacquiao. Matthysse has shown enormous enthusiasm for boxing with "the Filipino" and also recognized that "Mayweather is harder to secure."

Regarding Manny Pacquiao's previous opponent, Floyd Mayweather Jr., his next challenger will be Andre Berto which will happen on Sept. 12. There's not much hype surrounding the fight though since Mayweather will battle it out with an underwhelming opponent.

According to International Business Times, Mayweather's decision to look for Berto as his next opponent took two and a half months, even if more worthy fighters than Berto have been asking for a shot to fight with the undefeated boxer.

As for Berto, he's not even on the top list among boxing's welterweights, and had lost three of his six previous matches.

Anyhow, if you're one those boxing fans who were disappointed with the fight of the century and would want more action, no word from both camps yet if a rematch between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather will happen.
