AT&T has switched on its 4G LTE network for seven more locations, the company informed in a note to reporters recently. The company now offers the service in 47 markets around the U.S.
The new markets that will be AT&T LTE network covered are Buffalo, Burlington, Cleveland, Corpus Christi, Gainesville, Greensboro-Winston Salem, and Wichita.
The newly added consumer markets will have access to AT&T's 4G LTE data speeds which is up to 10 times faster than the regular 3G network and also faster than the company's other '4G' HSPA+ network.
AT&T said it looks forward to complete its LTE rollout to all major U.S. metro areas by the end of 2013.
"We continue to see demand for mobile Internet skyrocket, and our new 4G LTE network [...] responds to what customers want from their mobile experience - more access, faster speeds, and the best devices," the company said in a statement.
Further the wireless operator also announced on June 10, that it will be adding new features to its prepaid GoPhone plan. The company said that it has added unlimited texting to Canada, Mexico and 100 other countries to its $25 per month GoPhone prepaid rate plan, a feature previously only available on the $50 per month or $2 per day plans.
