Power Couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie get reunited on-screen after their hit action comedy movie "Mr & Mrs Smith" in 2005. This time around, the beautiful actress not only appears on screen but also behind the camera as she directs her husband in their reunion movie, the heavy drama "By the Sea."
According to News.com.au, the movie is a far cry from their first get-together on-screen.
"[The movie is about] a deeply unhappy couple on vacation in France who becomes involved with a pair of newlyweds staying at their seaside inn," said Jolie, who also wrote the script and produced the film.
The multi-talented actress confessed that they came across plenty of difficulties while filming on set. The 40-year-old beauty said, "I'd be directing myself and him in a scene where we're having a fight, and I'd be pulling out the parts [of him] that have an aggression toward me or when you're frustrated with each other - it was very heavy."
In a strange turn of events, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt worked on "By the Sea" while on their honeymoon, with production happening on the island of Gozo in Malta.
"We kept joking that all of the crew felt like they were living in a house where the parents were fighting and you don't know where to stand or where to look," said Jolie.
E! News reported that the trailer for "By the Sea" showed estranged couple Roland (Pitt) and Vanessa (Jolie) travelling in 1970 and were extremely disconnected with Roland doing his own thing while Vanessa sulked in their room at a seaside resort in France, and when they finally get a chance to communicate things went awry with Roland asking: "Are we ever going to talk about it?"
"Do you hate me?" Vanessa replies, "You know my reason."
And that's when a nasty slap landed solidly in his face.
Expect "By the Sea" to be heavy on emotions and focused on marital woes when it hits theaters on Nov. 13.
Meanwhile, Maddox, eldest of the Jolie-Pitt brood, celebrated his 14th birthday last Aug. 5. Time indeed flies so fast that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie already has a teenage son, as per Hollywood Life.
