Nicole Kidman May Have Helped Katie Holmes During Divorce

According to various sources, it appears as though Katie Holmes sought Actress, and ex-wife of Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman's help during her divorce from Tom Cruise.

Kidman and Cruise split back in 2001, after 10 years together and she is said to have offered a helping hand to Holmes. Cruise and Holmes have been in the headlines for weeks and rumors highlighting possible causes of their divorce have circulated since the initial announcement in June.

A source told Us Weekly, "They've spoken over the last few weeks. Nicole has been supportive, saying she's been through it too and to hang in there; Nicole offered her support and help."

Kidman has been friends with Holmes since 2006, when her ex-husband married the star well-known for her stardom on Dawson's Creek. However, she has been said to have been more of a "private" friend over the last few weeks. The source also added, "She has been a private friend not many people know about."

Cruise and Holmes reached a private divorce settlement on Monday, less than two weeks after the split. It has not been confirmed whether Holmes will get primary custody of ther their daughter, Suri, but if so, that would mean the six-year-old would continue to live with her in New York City, with Cruise granted generous visitation rights.

The pair released a statement that said, "We are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri's best interests. We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other's commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other's roles as parents."

The two married in an extravagant wedding ceremony in Italy in 2006 and they have one daughter together, Suri. Cruise, who is 49, has been among the world's highest-paid actors. The "Mission Impossible" star was previously married to actress Mimi Rogers and actress Nicole Kidman, with whom he has two adopted children.
