iPhone 5 Release Date Rumors: Latest Image leak confirms longer screen, thinner design and smaller dock connector

Rumors about the upcoming Apple iPhone flagship model are all the rage in the mobile space. All the tech-forward consumers are hoping to get their hands on the next-big-thing as soon as it hits store shelves.

Apple's next moves are a guessing game full of speculations and rumors leading to some surmise features that are just plain crazy and others which seem more likely. In either case, consumers are clamoring for information on what they should expect from Apple next-gen biggie would appear like, when they are finally unwrapped.

With that in mind, a news website has recently leaked new pictures of what is purportedly the iPhone 5, with images showing the new device next to the iPhone 4S in order to show off its proportions.

The news leak has come from website Kitguru.net, they have claimed in their report that the guys over there managed to take photos of a "test sample" of the new iPhone, and what leads to believe the report is that the original "world exclusive" posting has now been removed.

The leaked pictures provided proof that Apple's next iPhone will adopt a widescreen display, rather than the 4:3 version, which means the phone itself will be longer as compared to its successor models.

However, what is interesting in the comparative shots is that it seems the Cupertino company has no intention of trying to ape the extended form factor of rival smartphones including Samsung Galaxy S3.

Furthermore, one of the pictures also confirmed the rumor regarding the smaller connector at the bottom of the device.

Apple is still to set a date on when it will launch the iPhone 5, but considering the media world didn't see the iPhone 4S until October last year, it would be reasonable to suggest that the Apple fanboys will have to wait a few months until more information is provided on the same.

Besides this, numerous reports swirling in the blogosphere have predicted that Apple's sixth generation iPhone will pack 4-inch Retina display, an A5X variant chip, 1GB RAM, improved battery life, a smaller 19-pin dock connector and Liquidmetal casing - features that will definitely make it a 'Samsung Galaxy S3 killer'.
