Meghan Trainor 'Devastated' With Canceled Tour In North America; 'All That Bass' Singer Scheduled To Undergo Vocal Surgery

Meghan Trainor was reportedly "devastated" about her canceled North American tour, but she has no choice on the matter as she is scheduled to undergo vocal surgery.

Business Standard revealed that the "All About That Bass" singer posted on her Instagram account that although she was being cautious, her vocal cord bled out again amid incessant coughing and bronchitis, straining her already fragile vocal pipes, as per a report from E! News.

Trainor, 21, added that her main priority is on fixing her vocal cords totally so she can bounce back stronger. She also asked for her fans' understanding with her decision to end her previous commitments to give way to her treatment and recuperation.

According to Digital Spy, the "Lips are Moving" hitmaker was on tour for her debut album "Title," which hit the top stop in the UK and US charts earlier this year upon its release. She was also included in the growing number of performers who have canceled their respective tours to have surgery on their vocal cords; Jess Glynne and Sam Smith have done the same thing in recent months.

Because of this recent development, the Iowa State Fair was left scrambling to fill a huge gap in its entertainment schedule. They have to search for a leading pop grandstand performer who can amass around 10,000 people and be ready on stage within 10 days in Des Moines.

It means the fair has to find a replacement performer immediately to fill in the important Saturday night grandstand spot on Aug. 22. 8,500 tickets were already sold for Meghan Trainor's scheduled performance.

Mindy Williamson, the Iowa State Fair spokeswoman, said, "She was one of our top concerts. We are looking at alternatives and we don't know what those are going to be yet," as per SF Gate.

Well, fans can only hope and pray for Meghan Trainor's fast recovery so that she can delight people with her voice once more.
