'Fifty Shades of Grey': Novel Inspires Upscale Hotel Packages

Erotic novel "Fifty Shades of Grey" has not only moved readers to explore their wilder fantasies, it has now inspired upscale hotels to offer packages that attempt to create steamy experiences for customers.

Hotels in Portland and Seattle, the book's featured locations, are capitalizing on the "Fifty Shades of Grey" fan base by providing this 'live out your fantasies' kind of package.

Lodgings such as Max in Seattle is offering customers the opportunity to "live out your fantasies with a two-night getaway in an Artist King room on the romantic 8th floor," according to the hotel's website.

Customers who opt for the package are given chauffeured town car service, a helicopter tour of the city and a four-hour sailing excursion that includes a gourmet picnic and "a bottle of Bollinger Grande Annee Rose 1999 Champagne, a favorite of Mr. Grey himself."

The lush weekend stay inspired by the novel doesn't come cheap however. The price tag on the package is a whopping $1600.

At an even higher price, the Heathman Hotel in Portland, Oregon is also offering a specialized "Fifty Shades of Grey" package, costing customers $2,750. For the adventure, the Heathman offers a 'Charlie Tango No Limits' add-on package which includes appetizers, white wine for six people, a helicopter tour of Portland, roses for the misses, dinner at the luxury hotel and limo service.

As nice as it all sounds, of course for the most indulging experience of "Fifty Shades of Grey," one could just purchase the book and enjoy it in the comfort of their own home.
