No ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ This 2015 As NBC Ends Business Relationship With Donald Trump; Amal Clooney To Replace Presidential Hopeful As Host Of The Show?

NBC decided that there will be no "Celebrity Apprentice" this 2015. The reason? Well, NBCUniversal has terminated its business relationship with the show's original host, Donald Trump, following his derogatory statements regarding immigrants. But as per NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt, a female host might be stepping in and one name has been mentioned in the rumor mill — George Clooney's wife, Amal.

Despite the speculations about Amal Cooney's hosting "Celebrity Apprentice," NBC Entertainment Jennifer Salke isn't confirming the news. According to E! News, only one thing is sure for now and that is Donald Trump's exit from the show.

"Absolutely not," Greenblatt told reporters when asked if Donald Trump could ever make his way back in "Celebrity Apprentice" during the Television Critics Association (TCA) Press Tour. "We will not be producing a new edition of the show this season, but it will be back for the 2016/2017 season, with a new host."

Greenblatt also added that NBC is almost done in selling off its interest in the Miss USA pageant, which is currently in the hands of lawyers. And though the network has ended its working relationship with Donald Trump, Greenblatt stressed they were not in any "adversarial position" and had a "congenial and great relationship," The Hollywood Reporter noted.

Aside from severing its ties with the real estate mogul and presidential hopeful Donald Trump, Greenblatt also revealed that NBC is currently looking for a new host for the long-running reality competition series. However, finding a replacement has not proven easy, ET Online reported.

"We're always looking for a host of that show who's going to make noise and be a big personality," Greenblatt said. "There's a few people out there who fit that bill. I guess people are just in the political world looking for somebody who just speaks their mind, regardless of anything else."

Since Greenblatt said they would be open to a woman to take over Donald Trump's "Celebrity Apprentice" hosting job as Washington Post reported, will Amal Clooney fit the bill?
