'Toy Story 4' UPDATE: Woody Finally Finds Love; Bo Peep Takes The Spotlight

Finally, Buzz Lightyear and Woody fans can rejoice. Disney has confirmed that "Toy Story 4" will push through, and this time around, Woody will find love in the character of Bo Peep.

At the Disney's D23 Expo, Friday, Disney's Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter has finally settled what fans have suspected all along. "Toy Story 4" will spin around the romance between the toy cowboy Woody and the doll who in the nursery rhyme lost her sheep, as per CNBC.

Lasseter stated, "It's a love story with Woody and — and this is news — Bo Peep."

Pixar's "Toy Story"  was a movie about a boy named Andy, whose toys come to life and have a world of their own. When it was released in 1995, John Lasseter who directed it, rose to prominence. The groundbreaking movie was the front-runner in the feature-length computer animation and its two sequels "Toy Story 2" and "Toy Story 3" have gained around $2 billion at the box office.

"At Pixar and at Disney, we only make sequels if we come up with a story that's as good or better than the original. That's our rule. We don't do things just to print money," Lasseter added.

According to Entertainment Weekly, "Toy Story" will hit theaters on June 16, 2017 and as early as now, vital details about the movie's plot have been revealed.

The man responsible for Disney's success in the recent years especially in film animation said that "Toy Story 4" would contain components of a romance which has been known for quite some time. The duo of Rashida Jones and Will McCormack, who were also behind "Celeste and Jesse Forever," an indie romance, were part of the primary brain trust in the development of the story.

Pixar president Jim Morris said earlier this year that the latest sequel would "be a love story" and called the venture a "romantic comedy."

Morris said, "It will not put much focus on the interaction between the characters and children."

Bo Peep had an important role in "Toy Story" and "Toy Story 2," but was only seen for a while in "Toy Story 3" (apparently she was given away in the gap of the second and third movies).

Woody was voiced by Academy Award winner Tom Hanks in all of the "Toy Story" films while Bo Peep was voiced by Annie Potts.

Lasseter, who will be back to direct "Toy Story 4," said no new footage can be unveiled so far since it's a little early in the production, but he did reveal a pretty valuable piece of information. His wife was the inspiration for Woody and Bo Peep's love story, as per MTV News.

Fans young and old alike will definitely look forward to see how the story of their well-loved characters will unfold when the movie finally premieres in 2017.
