‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Has A New Villain; Charles Xavier To Reunite With Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine In Final Standalone Film — Plus Cast News, Release Date & More!

"X-Men: Apocalypse" fans are surely thrilled over the appearance or the team's titular villains and his minions, but Fox is seemingly not done teasing fans on what's to come when the movie hits theaters on its release date in 2016.

Cinemablend has learned this week that longtime villain The Blob is going to make an appearance at the highly anticipated reboot of the blockbuster franchise. The actor player the Blob or Frederick Dukes has yet to be named, but one Instagram user already got confirmation that the character is going to be part of the film.

What's quite exciting though is the fact that instead of using CGI or a fat suit to bring The Blob to life, the people behind the film got a 540-pound French-Canadian to play the role.

In case you are not aware, The Blob's mutant powers include extreme endurance to pain and physical injury except on his face, massive strength and his ability to create a gravity field that would make him immovable.

It isn't clear how The Blob is going to fit into the storyline. What's clear though is the fact that the X-Men team will be pitted against the Four Horsemen: Magneto, Angel, Psylocke and Storm, and the title super villain Apocalypse aka En Sabah Nur, played by Oscar Isaac.

Isaac recently got the chance to speak on "Live With Kelly and Micheal" and he has revealed that he is almost done filming his scenes for "X-Men: Apocalypse," which is set for release on May 27, 2016, according to Comicbook.

Isaac revealed that his days at the Montreal set of the flick are numbered, and it would only take a few more days before he is set to wrap things up.

Meanwhile, the "X-Men" standalone film for Hugh Jackman's Wolverine has also dropped some spoilers this week. After playing the role for 15 years, Jackman is now ready to let go and move from his career-defining franchise.

Jackman's third solo film is reportedly set to focus on the reunion between Wolverine and the X-Men's professor Charles Xavier, as per Daily Mail.

Hugh Jackman also revealed a little something for fans to watch out for saying, "I'm really excited about this last one and if you're a comic book fan then the words beserker rage came up a lot. If you know Wolverine you'll understand."
