Action Bronson Sued By Puerto Rican Salsa Group El Gran Combo For Alleged Sampling Of Their Songs

Queens, New York rapper Action Bronson has been known for mashing Latin songs into his music. Apparently, his style has gotten him into trouble after Puerto Rican salsa group El Gran Combo has filed a suit against the 29 year-old artist for allegedly sampling two of their songs on the latter's mixtapes.

Bronson allegedly used "Falsaria"and "Trampolin" from El Gran Combo's records in his songs "Mofongo"and "Tapas," TMZ wrote in a recent report.

The claim was based by the group from a 2011 statement made by Bronson, whose real name is Arian Asllani, that he likes to listen to Spanish and Latin songs whenever he cooks and even named the Puerto Rican group as his personal favorite in an interview last year.

It can be recalled that before his major label deal, Bronson was a host in "Action in the Kitchen" back in 2009 up to early 2010, Hiphop DX reported. As such, El Gran Combo correlates his affinity to naming songs after food dishes to the said issue as "Mofongo" is a widely known favorite in the Puerto Rican cuisine.

According to Hot New Hiphop, the famous salsa singing group is going after Bronson's "Bon Appetit... Bitch," compilation produced in 2011 since the said record is now available in various streaming devices including Apple store and Spotify, still without Bronson obtaining permission from the group to use their songs.

The salsa orchestra, who celebrated their 50th year back in 2012, further clarified that they are not accusing Bronson of pocketing the money he gets from the songs, but they stand firm in their belief that they have to be compensated for "...[making] him some money".

Hot New Hiphop said that Bronson was a chef for the New York Mets before entering the recording industry in 2013 after signing under Vice Records, a partner of the Warner Brothers.
