‘Marvel’s Agents Of SHIELD’ Season 3: Top 5 Things To Watch Out For When Hit ABC Series Returns This Fall

"Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" is already heading to its third run on the small screen and fans are already wondering what this ABC series can still offer that will satisfy their Tuesday night TV binging this fall. Below are the top 5 most interesting things to watch out for when "Agents of SHIELD" conquers primetime TV yet again.

1. "MAOS" season 3 synopsis

Ahead of its fall TV premiere, ABC has dropped the official synopsis of the third season, and as per ScreenRant, it appears that Agent Daisy Johnson will be leading the SHIELD team alongside Director Phil Coulson. The battle with the Inhumans and Jiaying may be far from over; thus, Coulson will encourage the team to look for new Inhumans to join them.

Meanwhile, everyone's busy trying to put the pieces back together in the organization. In their journey to recovering what they lost along the way, the agents will meet new allies and foes. Coulson, Daisy and Mack are also determined to form a team that is way stronger than before. Hopefully, this will help reestablish the organization that only aspires to protect the innocent and hamper the dangers that are emerging every now and then.

2. The introduction of the Advanced Threat Containment Unit

Amid Coulson's mission to build a stronger team is the introduction of the Advanced Threat Containment Unit or ATCU, which is led by a mysterious character to be played by actress Constance Zimmer. The name of the character has yet to be revealed, suggesting that she could be something comic book fans are very familiar with, according to Screen Rant.

The ACTU is mysterious in itself since it's not something based off an organization in the comic series. Many are wondering if this organziation is a new addition to the Marvel Comics Universe or if it's something that's primarily introduced to fill screen time just like what the Centipede Project did in the first season which was later on revealed to be funded by HYDRA.

3. The arrival of the Inhuman named Lash

Fans of the show will be thrilled to know that the Inhuman arc is expanding when "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" season 3 airs. Just this summer, it was revealed that Lash is going to be introduced in the series despite being one of the newest additions to the Marvel Comics Universe. Actor Matt Willig is playing the beastly character. The NFL football player-turned-actor is the perfect choice for the gargantuan Inhuman who is described as strong, agile and has the power to absorb and expel energy, Comic Book has learned.

4. The rise of Mockingbird

Season 3 of "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" just screams girl power. Aside from Skye, who is now the powerful and skilled Agent Daisy Johnson or Quake, Mockingbird is also going to be the center of attraction this fall. Mockingbird is the new female superhero on the team, and Adrianne Palicki will still reprise her role in season 3. Show fans will get to know more of this character as the main storyline involving SHIELD unfolds.

Meanwhile, Palicki, who admits that the new season is going to feature a lot of losses, has opened up about the rise of female superheroes on TV. "I mean, all of these women, especially on 'Agents of SHIELD,' not only just Mockingbird, but all the females on 'SHIELD' they're the ones who kick a—. All these women are kicking a— and I feel like it's becoming more and more prevalent and men want to see that, not only women," she was quoted as saying by BreatheCast.

5. The possible exit of Agent May

Actress Ming-Na Wen, who plays Agent May, has opened up a week ago about her character's fate on the show. According to her, after Melinda's vacation with Andrew, she'll be back at the agency, but she will have a hard time rebuilding her personal life. "In any situation when someone is so devoted to their work as May was, but then realizing over the last two years that S.H.I.E.L.D. isn't really what she dedicated her life to," the actress told TV Guide.

She then went on to say, "That there was definitely a lot of corruption to S.H.I.E.L.D., as well as uncertainty now with the Inhumans being brought in by Coulson. It's going to be figuring out her final decision in Season 3 and I think Andrew will probably play a part in it."

Don't miss "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" season 3's premiere on Sept. 29. Stay tuned as more details will be revealed in the coming days.
