Meanwhile, the successful premiere of "Hamlet" received mixed reviews from critics, according to Irish Examiner.

Different reviewers came to witness one of the "fastest-selling plays in British history." The site noted that they saw Cumberbatch's performance as enthusiastic, but believed that the play was "anti-climax."

Michael Billington of The Guardian rated the play with only two stars.

"After all the hype and hysteria, the event itself comes as an anti-climax," he stated. The critic also said that despite of Cumberbatch's well-received performance, its production, which is directed by Lindsey Turner, is as "intellectual ragbag."

On the other hand, The Daily Mail and and The New York Times gave "Hamlet" a five-star rating, citing the main actor's performance as "superb."
