Caitlyn Jenner 2015: ESPY Award Recipient, Vanity Fair Controversial Model’s Manslaughter Case Following Car Accident Now Under District Attorney Scrutiny

Caitlyn Jenner's car crash case from an accident that occurred February this year has now been transferred to the U.S. District Attorney's office last Tuesday in order to determine whether misdemeanor manslaughter charges would be filed against the transgender Olympic medalist.

The car accident was a result of Jenner's driving which, although within the speed limit, was considered to be an unsafe speed, Detective Richard Curry of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said, as per US Magazine.

The 65 year-old reality star was driving her Cadillac Escalade on the Pacific Coast Highway in Los Angeles when she crashed into a Lexus in front of her which, in turn, smashed onto a car coming from the opposite direction leaving its 69 year-old driver, Kim Howe, dead.

A one year imprisonment for Jenner would ensue if she will be convicted with the manslaughter charge. However, legal experts said that a jail term would be unlikely for the decathlon athlete, Reveal said.

An apologetic Caitlyn Jenner has extended her sympathy to the family of Howe including those who were affected by the car accident. Jenner immediately released a statement following the unfortunate incident saying, "It is a devastating tragedy, and I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time. I am praying for them. I will continue to cooperate in every way possible," Reveal said in the same report.

No timetable has been given regarding the prosecution's release of it decision to file charges against Jenner. His lawyer, Blair Berk declined to comment on the most recent development of the case, as per Gulf News Hollywood.

Jenner has made her first public appearance since coming out as a transgender in the ESPY Awards in Los Angeles where she was given the 2015 Arthur Ashe Courage Award for courage following her debut as a transgender in the July issue of Vanity Fair.
