'Assassin's Creed' Movie: Michael Fassbender To Play A New Character; 'Syndicate's' PC Version Slated For November Release

The "Assassin's Creed" movie stars "X-Men: Apocalypse" actor Michael Fassbender. After his first snap as an assassin was revealed at Yahoo News, it has been reported that he will be playing a new role.

Callum Lynch is the name of the protagonist Fassbender will be playing. Yahoo further reported that this character was made specifically for the film.

Despite the difference, his character reportedly possesses traits quite similar to the protagonists of the game series. As Lynch, he will discover that he has descended from the Assassin's Society.

He has also unraveled some genetic memories, allowing him to relive the life of his ancestor, Aguilar. He will use the knowledge that he'll learn from his antecessor to take down the Knights of Templar.

Ubisoft, creator of the video game "Assassin's Creed," and those that are part of the film production were contacted by ComicBook.com for clarification. No response has been provided yet.

Fassbender starred in "X-Men: First Class," "Shame," "Prometheus," "Frank" and "Steve Jobs," according to The Verge. He has played so many roles proving his versatility as an actor, that's why his performance as an assassin in this film adaptation is much awaited by many fans.

The "Assassin's Creed" movie is slated for a 2016 release.

Meanwhile, Ubisoft confirmed that the "Assassin's Creed Syndicate," the PC version, will be released on Nov. 19 — nearly a month after its PS4 and Xbox One release on Oct. 23, NDTV Gadgets reported.

"The additional four weeks are for us to really bear down and finalise all of the polish and optimisation, to make sure the game and all of its systems are stable when it launches, so it runs smoothly for all players starting on day one," Ubisoft Kiev Studio Production Manager Sam Kovalev stated in a blog report, explaining the four-week window period.
