'Street Fighter V' NEWS: Beta Servers Down For Maintenance; Capcom Unveils Collector's Edition Amid Testing

"Street Fighter V" beta was launched on Aug. 28, following its unstable initial test. Two days before the trial period ends, Capcom announced — via the recently set up "SFV" official Twitter account — that the servers would be down for maintenance.

The tweet stated that the "Street Fighter V" beta maintenance would start Aug. 31, from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. PST, and Sept. 1, from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. BST. The company apologized for the inconvenience.

"Street Fighter V" gamers are clamoring on Twitter about the issue. Many were disappointed, but there were others who expressed understanding opting to ask for a beta extension instead.

Dana Sami (@DanaSamiNL) expressed that in a tweet saying, "@SFVServer Are you going to extend the beta?"

Not One Of Us ‏(@notoneofus) seconded, "@SFVServer Oof.Just bad timing. Maybe extend the beta a little? Pwetty pwease?"

Capcom reportedly expected that the servers would run uninterrupted until the beta period ends on Sept. 2, without any server resets for maintenance, IGN noted in the report. However, issues might still arise since it is technically a trial period.

"Please note that this is a beta and users may run into connectivity issues," the company said. "The data is extremely helpful to us, as it will ensure that the final product will have the most optimal net code."

At this point, there is still no response from Capcom about the gamers' requests. on Aug. 29, the servers were restarted, and the day after, the company had server maintenance.

Meanwhile, amid the uproar on Twitter, PlayStation Lifestyle learned that the company has announced that the "Street Fighter V" collector's edition will be released with the game in the Spring of 2016.

The collector's edition will include a Street Fighter V Game Disc, a 10 Inch, Fully Painted Ryu Statue and a 48-Page Hardcover Artbook. DLC will include Udon Digital Street Fighter Comics, Street Fighter V Soundtrack Sampler and Twitch One-Month Subscription to Capcom Fighters Channel.
