‘Empire’ Season 2 [UPDATE]: New Promo Vid Shows Lucious Lyon’s Love-Hate Confession To Cookie; Who Will Rule Empire Entertainment?

In just two weeks, "Empire" Season 2 will finally premiere and fans are getting more excited as spoilers, teasers and updates continue to emerge. Just recently, a 55-second promotional video, entitled "Far from Grace," was released featuring the love and hate relationship of Cookie and Lucious Lyon.

"Empire" Season 2 production as well as the FOX show's co-creator and showrunner have been quite generous with promotional offerings such as dropping clues and giving away details about the upcoming season. According to Ecumenical News, co-creator and executive producer Danny Strong revealed that the second season will have its fair share of drama since two kingdoms are at war.

"If season one was 'who will inherit the throne', then season two is 'warring kingdoms," Strong revealed.

"Empire" Season 2 showrunner Ilene Chaiken also added that Cookie would once again take the spotlight. But despite the rumors saying Cookie is responsible for sending her ex-husband to jail, Chaiken stressed she's not the rat.

"Three months have passed and Cookie is trying to take over Empire when we start," Chaiken said. "Should she not succeed at that, she will be unstoppable and more determined than ever to have her own [label]... I'll just come right out and say it: You'd be wrong. Cookie wouldn't rat anybody out and certainly not Lucious. Cookie, she's not a snitch. That's not who she is."

Meanwhile, in the latest promo video, Cookie was seen visiting her ex-husband Lucious, who is trying his best in prison, Billboard noted. But what's more interesting is Lucious' confession regarding his feelings towards Cookie.

"It's crazy how I can love you and hate you at the same moment," Lucious tells Cookie, while she responds, "I call it torture."

Meanwhile, FOX released the official synopsis of "Empire" Season 2's premiere episode titled, "The Devils are Here," which will debut on Sept. 23 on FOX.

"Season 2 picks up three months after the shocking arrest and incarceration of Empire Entertainment head Lucious Lyon. Still in federal lockup, Lucious is trying to run Empire from inside, while a headline-grabbing state prosecutor hangs her political ambitions on bringing him down - no matter what it takes," the synopsis reads, as per International Business Times. "Meanwhile, Cookie stages a star-studded #FreeLucious concert in his support, while scheming with Andre, Hakeen, Anika and the business savvy Mimi Whiteman to finalize the hostile takeover of Empire."
