‘The Incredibles 2’ To Be Released Earlier, ‘Cars 3’ Delayed?

"The Incredibles 2" just got boosted. Fans of the Disney/Pixar superhero film has received good news recently when it was announced that the movie will be released ahead of "Cars 3."

According to writer and director Brad Bird, while speaking in an interview on Collider,  "The Incredibles 2" now will be released first.

"Incredibles was supposed to happen after 'Cars,' and our wheels just happened to click a little earlier so they moved us up. Release dates are a little fluid when you're making films so far in advance."

As reported by IGN, Bird further added that he's "probably three-quarters through the script," and also talked about the difficulties of making a new superhero movie in 2015.

Bird further stated that "what's changed is there were only two other superhero franchises at the time Incredibles came out. One of them was X-Men and the other was Spider-Man, and now there are 400 billion of them and there's a new superhero movie every two weeks."

According to Cinema Blend, it was last summer when Pixar announced that is indeed developing a sequel to "The Incredibles" along with other movies that they will release.

Among those movies are "The Good Dinosaur," "Finding Dory," "Toy Story 4" and "Coco," which are all slated to hit the big screen on 2017.

However, despite the announcement of "The Incredibles 2" going ahead of "Cars 3," Bird nor Pixar has yet to announce specific release dates for the upcoming movies.

As for the plot details for the Pixar superhero movie, Bird just stated that fans should not expect "Incredibles 2" to give commentary on the current state of superhero movies but rather, on the aspect that makes it unique, which is the element of "family."

Fans of the movie are now hyped and hoping that Disney/Pixar would finally spill the beans on this one.
