Toyota Tacoma 2016 Specifications REVEALED: High In Power, Low On Consumption

The Toyota Tacoma 2016, Toyota's best-selling mid-size truck is getting an upgrade and people are anticipating.

According to USA Today the new Toyota Tacoma 2016 will start to roll into stores this week. Since it's the sales leader in its segment, Toyota apparently didn't made major overhauls for their beloved midsize truck? However, fans of the truck should still check the practical upgrades Toyota has made.

As reported by Car and Drive, the Toyota Tacoma 2016 will have a starting price of about $24,200. It will also be available different models that feature either a 2.7 liter 4-cylinder engine or a 3.5 liter V6, The Chronicle Herald has learned.

The 4-cylinder engine gives an output of 159 horsepower while the V6 engine on the other hand, reportedly gives an astonishing 278 horsepower, a clear 42-horsepower improvement over the last Tacoma.

As for the design, the new Tacoma features sharper front angles, making it look aggressive than ever before. The hood was also raised which was seen as an improvement over the previous model.

Albeit a midsize truck, the Toyota Tacoma 2016 grew about 4 inches compared to the last model, making it just 2 feet shorter than the fullsized truck Toyota Tundra.

High in power but low on consumption, the Tacoma's EPA rating is also worth discussing. The 2-wheel drive V6 with automatic transmission has a consumption of 19 miles per gallon in the city, 24 on the highway. Overall, it has an average of 21 miles per gallon consumption. What's interesting is, according to USA Today, the V6 has the same overall rating as the 4-cylinder variants.

Enthusiasts and purists need not to worry as the new Toyota Tacoma is also available in a manual transmission. Three models feature the manual, including a five-speed 4 x 4 SR access Cab, a revised six-speed V6 TRD Sport Access model and the TRD Off Road Double Cab that has a clutch lockout feature, allowing the driver to start the vehicle without depressing the clutch pedal.

Overall, the new Toyota Tacoma will feel new yet familiar, all at the same time.
