Michael Fassbender, Alicia Vikander Reportedly Call It Quits

Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander are rumored to have broken up.

According to Just Jared, an article from Us Weekly stated that the 38-year old "X-men" actor has split up from his girlfriend of 9 months.

Fassbender and Vikander are reported to have first met on the set of the film, "The Light Between Oceans." However, the last time the couple was spotted together happened when they were watching the Formula One Grand Prix in Monaco, last May.

Since then, the Independent reported that the 26-year old Vikander just made a public appearance for the first time since the alleged split.

However, as reported by Movie News Guide, those rumors are actually untrue as Fassbender was reported to be still very much in love with Vikander. Also, a source close to Vikander assured that the split-up rumors are false and everything between the couple is fine.

Reports are saying that the split rumors are absolutely baseless. The Us Weekly article that reported the break-up was criticized and was told that their sources has not enough evidence to support the rumor.

It was also pointed out that instead of giving evidence, the tabloid websites reporting Fassbender and Vikander's break-up rumors highlighted other information regarding their relationship namely, the photographs about the couple looking happy back in May or girls allegedly linked Fassbender before and during the relationship.

In addition, it was also reported that no one from any of the news/gossip outlets explained why the couple even broke up.

Us Weekly highlighted that Fassbender had a history of romancing his costars. From 2010 to 2011, he dated his considerably younger "X-Men: First Class" co-star Zoe Kravitz. Afterwards, he subsequently dated his "Shame" co-star Nicole Beharie from 2012 to 2013.

It seems that these kinds of rumors aren't affecting their careers as both are currently involved in promising movies as Vikander recently starred in "Danish Girl" while Fassbender is promoting his movie, "Steve Jobs," due for a release this Oct. 9.
