'Heroes Reborn' Premieres Tonight On NBC; Is The Reboot Interesting Enough To Keep Fans Hooked? [REVIEWS]

"Heroes Reborn" will be having its two-hour premiere tonight on NBC, but the fans have divided opinions — some are thrilled, while others think of it as just another boring series.

Many avid viewers got hooked with the "Heroes'" first season, but afterwards, the show fell off the bandwagon, so fans could not be blamed if they are hesitant to watch the reboot.

The series, according to the showrunner Tim Kring, picks up five years after Claire Bennet outed the fact that humans with powers — now known as the EVOs — exist. At present, the EVOs are hunted and persecuted, not only by a new organization, but also the government, hence, they are forced to live in hiding.

"Heroes Reborn" will bring back some of the original cast, including Jack Coleman, Masi Oka and Greg Grunberg. It will also feature new faces, such as Zachary Levi and Judith Shekoni.

Its premiere will be spent introducing the new heroes and their powers, USA Today reported. That said, other than Levi and Shekoni, the reboot will also debut Robbie Kay, an American teenage boy who can make things disappear, and Kiki Sukezane, a Japanese girl who embraces her power hoping it could help her save her missing father.

"Heroes Reborn" is reportedly juggling with multiple plot lines for each new character on its two-hour premiere, whereas the original show took its time, hence, the audience were able to connect to each of those characters. As per The Verge, emotional connection to the series is needed so that weekly investment can be made.

There is an opportunity for character growth, according to some critics. However, the show is limited only to 13 episodes.

"Heroes Reborn's" heavy serialize nature offers the promise of something good, if not better, according to IGN. Yet, we won't know for sure until it hits the viewers' screens.

"I know that the intention is trying to harken back to the original — the first season. I would just say give it a shot," Levi said when he was asked by TVLine what his pitch would be for fans who are hesitant to jump back to "Heroes" universe.

"If you don't like it, OK, that's fine, but check it out," he added. "I hope they're satisfied, and I hope new audiences find it, too."

What do you think "Heroes" fans? Will the "Heroes Reborn," after tonight's premiere, captivate its audience and make them follow the show's succeeding episodes?
