‘Pokemon Go’ Release Date, Price & Trailer: What To Expect From Upcoming Niantic Android, iOS Augmented Reality Game

"Pokemon GO," an upcoming mobile game for Android and iPhone, is taking the world by storm.

As reported by PC Advisor, "Pokemon GO" is a mobile game developed by the Pokemon Company and Niantic that attempts to bring Pokemon to the real world. Fans both old and new have now the opportunity to become real-life Pokemon trainers.

According to Niantic founder, John Hanke, "For the first time, Pokemon will roam free in the real world. Pokémon GO will allow players to capture Pokemon who inhabit parks, shopping areas, sidewalks and the countryside all around the world. Imagine discovering a Squirtle hiding along the waterfront in San Francisco, a Bulbasaur at Shinjuku Station or a Pikachu beneath the Eiffel Tower."

The player or rather, the "trainer," aims to locate, catch, battle and trade Pokemon. And if another "Pokemon GO" player is nearby, you are more than encouraged to interact and even have a Pokemon battle just like in the TV show.

According to IGN, "Pokemon GO" works by connecting your Android or iOS-powered smartphone to a Bluetooth wristband called "Pokemon GO Plus."

The "Pokemon GO Plus" wristband lets you perform basic commands in the game like catching Pokemon at a press of a button. Apart from that, it also notifies the player when a pokemon is nearby and other events by flashing and vibrating. The wristband is also created and manufactured by Nintendo.

"Pokemon GO" does not have an exact release date yet but, according to sources, the game is slated to be released some time in 2016.

But according to rumors, "Pokemon GO" will be released on the U.S market in November 20. The good news is, you can download the game for free but in-game app purchases are encouraged.

"Pokemon GO" isn't Niantic's first augmented-reality game as reported by Red Bull. According to reports, "Ingress," an MMO augmented-reality game, has a science fiction based story that allows players to capture "portals" at historical or cultural places such as public art, landmarks and monuments.

Are you going to catch them all?
