What Is Burger King’s Goth Burger Made Of?

Burger King is bringing its Goth Burger to US shores after it conquered Japan last year. The Halloween-inspired Whopper that is known for its black buns has arrived in America almost two weeks after Reddit user bkleaks tipped off the info on the entertainment, social networking and news website.

Behind the dark facade of the Goth Burger is one of Burger King's all-time favorite Whopper. Thus, the same ingredients can be found in the Halloween-themed sandwich, albeit with a new twist to the burger.

The Goth Burger does not stray from Burger King's typical sandwich ingredients except for the black buns, which is dyed with A.1. steak sauce, according to Jezebel.

The Japanese version of Goth Burger, called Kuru Burger, on the other hand, has buns that are blackened with squid ink, as per Bustle. Also, another thing that sets the Japanese version apart from the American is the black cheese the Asian market gets with every Kuro Burger order.

On Monday, Burger King dropped a Halloween-inspired teaser clip for the Halloween Whopper. Check it out here.

Burger King is also giving Goth Burgers or Halloween Whoppers a rightful partner in a specially made drink for the fall — Pumpkin Spice Oreo Shake, which according to WTVR has 890 calories for the 20 oz. serving.

According to Burger King, a Whopper sandwich is composed of sesame seed buns, one-fourth pound flame-grilled beef, pickles, ketchup, onions, tomatoes, lettuce and creamy mayonnaise.

The typical Whopper has 510 calories without mayonnaise and with mayo, the sandwich has 650 calories. For Whoppers with cheese, the standard calorie count for the one without mayo is 600, while the one with mayo is 730. See nutrition facts of Burger King's sandwiches here
