Death Of Jim Carrey's Ex-Girlfriend SHOCKS 'The Mask' Actor

Jim Carrey was shocked when it was reported that his former girlfriend died due to an alleged suicide.

Cathriona White, a 30-year old Irish makeup artist, who was pictured with the comedian in recent months, was found dead in her Los Angeles Apartment on Monday night, The Guardian has learned.

Carrey said in a statement regarding his ex-girlfriend that, "She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled," and called White "My sweet Cathriona."

Carrey also said, "My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her."

According to the Irish Examiner, a note was reportedly found at the scene, which said that she and Carrey recently broke up. Sources are saying that the relationship between the two ended on Sept. 24, the same day White posted her final Twitter post.

In her last tweet on September 24, White wrote, "Signing off Twitter, I hope I have been a light to my nearest and dearest."

Carrey also posted two photos of himself on Twitter this past month, both of which are credited to White.

As reported by CNN, paramedics responded to White's apartment last Monday and pronounced her dead. And according to reports, Lt. Fred Corral of the Los Angeles County Coroner's office said that, "The report is not completed, but it is an apparent suicide."

White first moved to Los Angeles in 2009 after training as a beauty therapist at the Limerick College of Further Education; she first started dating the actor in 2012 after meeting him on a film set.

The couple was reported to have broken up after a couple of months but rekindled their relationship last May, before breaking up for good this September.

Among the known works of Cathriona White includes various comedy and drama projects like "The Online Gamer," "Firefly" and "Solitude."
