IGX 2015: 5 Important Things You Need To Know About India's First Gaming Expo

IGX 2015 — over the past years, gaming expos became really popular. Examples of which are the recently held Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in the United States, Gamescom in Germany and Tokyo Game Show in Japan.

India, too, will be hosting its first gaming convention soon, and here are five important things you should know about upcoming Indian Games Expo or IGX 2015.

1. When?

It was recently announced on IGX's official Facebook page that the event would commence on Nov. 14 and 15.

IGX 2015 will be free for everyone. The registration will begin today, Oct. 7, via their official site.

2. Where?

The event will take place at Bombay Exhibition Center. It is located at the Nesco Grounds off the Western Express Highway in Goregaon East, according to GamingBolt.

The organizers are reportedly expecting 20,000 people to visit within the period of two days.

3. What's in store for the participants?

The IGX attendees will reportedly be given the chance to win cool prizes, take home a lot of freebies, witness new product launches and participate in cosplays. The event will also showcase great deals on games and hardware, as per the report of IGN.

4. What are the popular games attendees can expect to see?

IGX 2015 is expected to showcase Ubisoft's "Assassin's Creed: Syndicate," Warner Bros.' "Batman: Arkham Knight," "Mad Max," and "Mortal Kombat X," and Konami's "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" and "Pro Evolution Soccer 2016."

5. What's at stake?

During the Gamescom 2015 event, the team behind IGX reportedly talked to some publishers and developers, inviting them to set up stalls at the event. Sunday Guardian Live learned that the responses of the gaming companies were positive, but at the same time, they were being cautious.

Companies show support through participation and investment, but most are reportedly waiting for the result. This is why the IGX 2015 event is crucial as it becomes the make or break for future events.
