'Indiana Jones 5' BOMBSHELL: Steven Spielberg Ditching Chris Pratt Over Harrison Ford?

Will “Indiana Jones 5” still have Harrison Ford portraying the adventurous archaeologist? Did Steven Spielberg ditch “Guardians of the Galaxy” star Chris Pratt?

Cinema Blend reported that it was only earlier this year when news about “Indiana Jones 5” has been confirmed. No information has been released yet on who will be on board for the fifth installment of the “Indiana Jones” franchise.

However, director Steven Spielberg told Yahoo! Movies that Tom Hanks and Harrison Ford were now tied in terms of the number of movies they have been working with him. Ford has starred in four “Indiana Jones” movies while Hanks starred in “Saving Private Ryan,” “The Terminal,” “Catch Me If You Can” and the new film “Bridge of Spies.”

The esteemed director said he needed to straighten things out and said, “Now, I’ll probably do an “Indy 5” with Harrison, [so] it’ll be five for Harrison, four for Tom...I’ve got to make another one with Tom, that’ll be five for Tom, five for Harrison. And I think I’m going to leapfrog that way for the rest of my career. With Daniel Day-Lewis in everything else!”

Harrison Ford was 65 years old when he was last seen in the fourth “Indiana Jones” movie, “The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” wherein he reprised his titular role. It might be unlikely that he will be back for “Indiana Jones 5” because he’s currently busy with “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” in which he plays Han Solo, and the now 73-year-old actor will also be doing a “Blade Runner” sequel. Nevertheless, fans would love to see him back as Indiana Jones.

Slash Films revealed Harrison Ford has stated publicly that it’s “perfectly appropriate” to bring Indy back. Rumors also abound that part of his return to Star Wars was a guarantee that Disney would make another “Indiana Jones” film.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy commented previously that “Indiana Jones 5” will eventually happen, although she made it clear that a script has not even been started yet. According to Deadline, Chris Pratt was rumored to be eyed by the studio to take over the "Indiana Jones" franchise and hoped that Pratt's leading-man movie status will help increase moviegoers interest on the iconic role.

Meanwhile, Chris Pratt keeps himself busy with Antoine Fuqua's "The Magnificent Seven" opposite Denzel Washington and currently shoots "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2."

Comicbook.com has revealed that its good news if indeed Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford will be involved in the fifth Indiana Jones installment.

Do you think Harrison Ford should reprise his role in "Indiana Jones 5" or Chris Pratt should take over?
