Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian are still legally married prompting the “KUWTK” star to make decisions regarding the medical care of the former NBA star who was in coma after being discovered unconscious in a Vegas brothel due to apparent drug overdose.
E! News has learned that although Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian have each signed their divorce papers back in July, a judge has not penned his signature on the divorce papers yet, meaning the two exes are still married because of that technicality. The reason for the delay in the processing of the divorce papers was due simply to a file backlog. The courthouse estimated that Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian’s divorce will be legal and binding later this year. Legal expert Troy Slaten said, “It is not final until it is final. They are still a married couple in the eyes of the law.”
With all that new information coming to light, the “KUWTK” reality star is Lamar Odom’s next of kin. Slaten continued Khloe Kardashian is still legally his wife and so in the light of what happened to him these past days, she is responsible for his medical care, unless the estranged couple enlisted a medical directive during the filing of divorce.
On the other hand, the 31-year-old bombshell flew her former husband’s two teenaged kids from Liza Morales, Lamar Jr. and Destiny to Nevada from New York to be with their father as he continues to fight to stay alive in a hospital in Las Vegas. Gossip Cop heard that Khloe Kardashian also made arrangements for Lamar Odom’s father, Joe, to visit his son from Los Angeles.
For now, Lamar Odom’s condition does not look good as he was believed to have suffered from multiple strokes after allegedly doing crack cocaine and mixing it up with an herbal substitute for Viagra. He was said to have been partying for days with several girls. The former NBA star is currently plugged into a ventilator and may come out of coma with irreparable brain damage.

Hollywood Life reported Khloe Kardashian was absolutely in hysterics with what’s happening with Lamar Odom. The doctors have revealed four of his vital organs were failing and he may have a 50/50 chance of coming out of his coma. It’s a grim prognosis for Lamar Odom but Khloe Kardashian hopes for him to wake up so she can be the first in line to give him a kiss and a hug.
It’s good that Khloe Kardashian rushed to Lamar Odom’s side so she can make decisions regarding his medical conditions since technically they’re still married.
