James Harden may still be a relatively young player, but it seems the Rockets guard has his career already planned out.
According to CSN Sports, the 26-year-old player has his career all mapped out, at least according to him. During an interview with the Houston Chronicle, the MVP runner up proudly proclaimed that he plans to play with the Houston Rockets until he retires.
Harden said, "Definitely ... Definitely it's going to end here." The player is currently in the middle of a five-year, $78 million contract he signed with the team way back 2012 — the second deal he signed as a professional.
NBC Sports reported that Harden did not even entertain the thought of changing teams as he is comfortable with what he has now because he is in the spotlight. He is showing no signs of going back to his native Los Angeles. He stated that he has little to no reason to even want a change.
The response is exactly what you would expect with a player who is happy in his situation. And although they were eliminated in the Western Conference finals last season by the eventual champions Golden State Warriors, the Rockets are projected to be title contenders every year as they have Daryl Morey, one of the smartest general managers in the league, who'll make sure that his team would be competitive, throughout the rest of Harden's prime.
And speaking of his prime, just last season, he averaged insane numbers on almost all of his stats, Sports Illustrated has learned. During the 2014-2015 NBA season, Harden recorded an average of 27.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, 7 assists, 1.9 assists and .7 blocks, all of which are career highs.
It's interesting to say that although many analysts are saying that he has yet to hit his physical prime, he's already having the best season of his career.
