Why ‘Castle’ Season 8 Episode 6 NOT AIRING This Monday Night; Super Low Ratings To Be Blamed As ABC Series Takes 2-Week Break?

"Castle" Season 8 Episode 6 will not be airing this week or next week. Due to some scheduling conflict, ABC's crime-busting series will be on a two-week hiatus. Since fans seemed to have hated Rick and Kate's separation, the ratings for this season has remarkably declined.

While "Castle" Season 8 Episode 6 takes a two-week break, latest spoilers revealed the return of a character fans definitely missed. According to Latin Post, Det. Ethan Slaughter (Adam Baldwin), who was last seen on a fourth season episode, will return to solve another mystery. Despite his violent and downright crazy antics, Rick might be working with him again.

"Castle" Season 8 Episode 6 titled, "Cool Boys," will be delayed for the next two weeks and several speculations emerged that the latest season of the crime drama series is struggling hard to survive with the all-time low ratings. Due to this, "Castle" Season 8 might be Rick Castle and Kate Beckett's last television hoorah.

With new showrunners, Alexi Hawley and Terence Paul Winter, "Castle" Season 8 appeared to have been promising to the audience. However, as they twisted the series in hopes to bring new excitement, fans weren't thrilled and resulted to the rating of 1.1, Movie News Guide reported.

Another reason cited for the rating downfall of "Castle" Season 8 is the timeslot of the show, which competes with other series such as "Blindspot" and "Monday Night Football." Not to mention the new twist involving Castle and Beckett's breakup, which has also affected the ratings of the show.

Moreover, "Castle" Season 8 will also have a new split-season scheduling format, which will ditch its annual Christmas-themed episode this year.

"Unfortunately, because of the way ABC is platforming us -- we do eight episodes and end [Nov. 23], and we're not on again until the beginning of February -- we won't be on the air for the holidays," Hawley said, as previously reported.

Since there will be no new episode this week and the week after, Carter Matt explained that it may be due to a repeat of the episode of "Once Upon a Time in the West," which will be airing in seven days' time. While the week after break seemed to have been reserved for a CMA special on ABC.

For what is coming in the future, the upcoming Nov. 16 episode is entitled "The Last Seduction," and then after that you have "Mr. and Mrs. Castle," which apparently hinted Kate and Rick's reconciliation.

Meanwhile, "Castle" Season 8 Episode 6 premieres on Nov. 9, Monday at 10 p.m. on ABC. For online stream link, click here.
