Are Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady divorcing? The almost-perfect couple seemed to have imperfections after all. And after six years of marriage, Brady's supermodel wife finally broke her silence and opened up about their marital issues.
This 2015 has been a very challenging year for Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen. While the 35-year-old world's highest paid supermodel took an early from her 13-year runway career in April, her New England Patriots' quarterback husband took a blow in his football career after he got involved in the Deflategate controversy. Brady was accused that his team had tampered the footballs used in the AFC championship game against the Indianapolis Colts in early this year, E! News reported.
Even though Tom Brady, who has a 4-game suspension in the 2015 season, earned a favorable verdict, the damage caused by the scandal had taken a toll in his relationship with wife Gisele and even sparked divorce rumors between the couple.
"I think we've been through a few tough times together," Bündchen said during an interview on "CBS This Morning" Tuesday. "I think that's when you know who are your friends and who loves you. My father always said the quality of your life depends on the quality of your relationships, and I think, no matter how challenging it was, we've always been supportive of one another. I think that's the most important thing you can have in life, you know? A support system and love."
The incident, however, was not the first time that the couple faced a rough time in their relationship. In fact, Gisele Bündchen admitted that she almost gave up during initial whirlwind romance when she discovered that Tom Brady's ex-girlfriend, model and actress Bridget Moynahan was several months pregnant.
"It was a challenging thing because here I am, you know, thinking, I'm dating this guy, we met, and we started dating and everything is great and then this happens," Bündchen revealed, as per People. "So, then I felt like I didn't know what to do. It was kind of one of those moments of like, 'Do I just run away?'"
Instead of running away, Gisele Bündchen decided to stay. And now, she and Tom Brady were married for six years and share two children together - 5-year-old Benjamin and 2-year-old Vivian. Moynahan, who's a newlywed, and Brady, on the other hand, have since stuck a balance when it comes to co-parenting their 8-year-old son John, who Gisele described as a "sweet bonus child."
"He's a very kind man," Bündchen said of her husband. "You know him! He's a good man . . . I would say he's much more competitive than me. I'm much more a collaborative person . . . He's kind of the boss in some way. He has to dictate [what's on the field]."
Despite the divorce rumors swirling around in August, Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen proved that their love for each other is stronger than the issues threatening to tear them apart. They even bravely dealt and surpassed their fair share of struggles. As for Bündchen's career, she revealed that she still have contracts to finish though she has already retired, Us Weekly noted.
