The first half of "Empire" Season 2 is concluding this Wednesday night with a bang! And the show's executive producer Ilene Chaiken recently gave a glimpse on what to expect during the midseason finale episode titled, "Et Tu Brute."
In "Empire" Season 2 Episode 10, which is the midseason or fall finale episode, the Lyons will be facing the biggest challenge in their lives - to lose Empire Entertainment. And while Mimi (Marisa Tomei) has been planning to oust Lucious as the CEO of the company, Cookie and Hakeem will go to his defense and support him. So as Lucious' Empire is about to crumble down, here are 6 things to expect in the upcoming episode.
1. Camilla returns in "Empire" Season 2 Episode 10
"Empire" showrunner Chaiken teased Camilla's (Naomi Campbell) unexpected comeback in the upcoming midseason finale of the series. According to Melty, she will show up unannounced on Hakeem's doorstep despite taking Lucious' money to stay out of his life forever. However, she always promised to come back.
2. Lucious will be removed as Empire's CEO in "Empire" Season 1 Episode 10
The promotional clip for the upcoming episode showed Mimi running a meeting at Empire Entertainment where she arranged a vote to remove Lucious as the CEO of the company. While Mimi may have her personal plans to take the company from Lucious, Cookie and Hakeem are shown talking and they appear composed to help out their family.
"Lyon Dynasty may be our company, but Empire is our family," Cookie said in the promo video, as per International Business Times. "And anybody that tries to steal that from us is our enemy."
3. Cookie will have a concert at the prison in "Empire" Season 2 Episode 10
In the upcoming midseason finale, Cookie will plan a concert at the prison where she spent 17 years locked away from her family, another International Business Times noted.
"In the fall finale for the first half of season 2, Cookie going back to the prison that she spent 17 years of her life in, is tangentially related to the fact that her whole life and especially her concert has blown up," showrunner Chaiken revealed. "It's Cookie facing her darkest demons."
4. Lucious-Cookie reunion in "Empire" Season 2 Episode 10?
Cookie will be visiting Lucious' place, where he is seen throwing stuffs around. Cookie then consoles Lucious. Does this mean a reunion will happen in the upcoming midseason finale?
5. Jamal and Skye Summers romance in "Empire" Season 2 Episode 10
In the last episode, Jamal and Summers (Alicia Keys) hooked up but it led to their confusion about their identity. As per Chaiken, she revealed that the whole things about Summers's attraction to Jamal was because he owned his gay identity.
"Here they are now, sleeping together and they are both utterly confused and blown away by it," Chaiken said.
6. Anika seeks retribution in "Empire" Season 2 Episode 10
Anika is still plotting a revenge against the Lyons as the return of Hakeem's ex Camilla Marks will complicate things with his new love Laura. That's why, fans should watch the midseason finale as it teases, "You won't want to miss the last few minutes that will leave you speechless."
