Scorpion season 2 featured the death of Megan, Walter O'Brien's sister on episode 10. In that episode, the #TeamScorpion tried to save doctors, nurses and patients inside a hospital with a deadly virus on the loose. Although they succeeded, Walter was not able to save his sister because she also developed complications from multiple sclerosis.
Scorpion season 2 episode 10 was entitled "Arrivals and Departures" and it was about saving lives and Megan's worsening health conditions. In the end, she passed away, leaving her brother and husband Sylvester overwhelmed with sad emotions.
Megan also left a video message addressed to Walter. She began her message with: "I don't know if I'm going to send this, but if you're watching, it means I'm gone," Megan told her brother. "And this is how I want you to remember me -- healthy and happy and someone who loves you so much."
The first part of her speech probably moved the viewers to tears, but it was her parting shot that was really heart-wrenching. She looked lovingly to Walter and said, "Don't be afraid of who you really are. You're not your brain. You are your heart, and there are people in this world that love you so much. Walter, don't be afraid to love. I just want you to be as happy as I am. I love you. Thank you. Thank you for being my brother."
Now, with this heavy drama, the producers thought that they should follow it up with a lighthearted story line rather than continuing with the gloomy scene. So, in the end, it looks like that Walter did not mourn the death of her sister.
Likewise, since the show is jumping forward to something comical in episode 11, the assumption is that Walter will not be given time to grieve. But sources said that actually, the succeeding episode is fun but will subtly show that he is also suffering from the loss. He's just hiding his feelings through being passive.
Scorpion season 2 episode 11 is considered as a game-changer as its comeback has an entirely different tone. Going past the tear-jerking last episode, fans of the show are sort of relieved by the light, humorous twist.
The #TeamScorpion goes back to college as they were dispatched to a university in order to find a notorious hacker who is threatening to crush the global economy. He hacked the Federal Reserve System thus he has to be caught as soon as possible.
Scorpion season 2 "The Old College Try" is filled with hilarious moments as the guys went undercover and pretended to be students. As shown in the teaser, the gang of geniuses was treated like nerds (just like they have always been back in the day), with fellow students throwing men's supporters and having their faces splashed with water. This is probably why the team was totally reluctant to hit the books again, even just for the sake of national security!
