The Questions You Need To Ask When Looking For a Job

People go to school to get a degree. This is so they can also find and land a good job to secure their future. For most people, looking for a job is the hardest part.

First, they need to find a good company with a good offer, not only financially but career wise as well. Next, they need to make sure that they also fit the qualifications set by the company.

Then, when they pass the first two steps, they now need to make sure that they are able to practice the usual questions and answers during the interview process. 

Addtionally, many have realized that the most important thing in looking for a job is not just the role you play in the company but the environment that you're working for.

The culture of the work environment is important in the happiness and success of each worker. The big question is, how would you know the culture of a company when you haven't even started working yet?

In an article written for The New York Times, there was a study conducted three decades ago that was led by Stanford professor Joanne Martin and a team of researchers. They analyzed the stories of people in a workplace.

In this study, they were able to find that: People think their cultures are more distinctive than they really are. They have collected stories from almost every organization from private to public, large or small scale companies etc. Because of this study, the job seekers are able to understand and pinpoint exactly what are the important questions about work culture.

Four Important questions to ask would be:

  • Is the boss human? 
  • Will a person like me be able to rise above everyone else? 
  • Is there a possibility that I would get fired?
  • Lastly and the most important would be, if I make mistakes, how will my boss react to it?

When you are able to answer these 4 questions, then you'll be better prepared for your new job. You have the skills to take on the challenges and successes along the way in building your career.
