No Free TV Streaming? Here's 2015's Top 10 Illegally Downloaded TV Shows; Game of Thrones on Top Spot!

Now that 2015 is coming to a close in 3 days, the time has come for the annual round ups. And this time, we are giving you the Top 10 most illegally downloaded TV series of the past year. The judge? You, of course, who mindlessly downloaded them. Read up, Pirates! Business Insider listed the 10 TV Shows that are downloaded illegally.

Game of Thrones, again, takes the top spot.

According to HBO, "Game of Thrones" has been the most-pirated TV show for four consecutive years, with a huge 14.4 million downloads on BitTorrent, as reported by TorrentFreak.

The show is severely popular that it has a total of 8 million downloads lead to the top 2 show, The Walking Dead.

Not only that, "Game of Thrones" also beat TV's most-watched show, CBS's "The Big Bang Theory," which is in the third-place slot. This means that even though GOT does not earn the rank of the most watched series on TV, people are still finding ways to watch and catch up on it.

Earlier this year, it was reported that GOT also broke an all-time record for illegal downloads when more than 258,131 users and downloaders shared the same "GoT" torrent file simultaneously.

According to TorrentFreak, illegal downloads aren't declining at all. Contrary to the popular belief that the industry is fast hitting its downfall, they're actually in fact increasing, many levels above the traditional TV audience numbers for programs.

Also included in the list are the shows: Suits, Vikings, The Flash, Supergirl and Arrow.

TorrentFreak's numbers and ranking are based on data providers from several sources which includes public BitTorrent trackers. It is worth noting that downloads were only measured, excluding online streaming and downloads for file-hosting services.
