Bugatti Chiron: Car Model Can Reach Top Speed of 290 MPH, Said to be Fastest Supercar

The Chiron, pronounced as Shir-on, is reported to reach a top speed of 290 MPH.

The next big super star, or super car, under Bugatti, has a carbon-fiber platform and will have about 8% of carry over components.

The main piece is the W-16, quad turbo chardged engine. Expected horsepower is 1,500 with 1,100 pound-feet of torque. There is a direct injection and two turbos are electronically driven to zero out turbo lag.

This means that the expected amount of power produced will be from zero to 62 mph in just under 2.5 seconds. This tops the company's previous model, the Veyron.

The company's engineers seemed to have squeezed in some tremendous power and speed in the two seater car.

Volkswagen, Bugatti's parent company, has not released any reports of the Chiron. However, reports have indicated that the release of the super car may be in 2017. There will only be about 500 units set to be manufactured in the course of five years. Bugatti has already received 130 orders as early as late 2015.

The Chiron is a remedy for Veyron. The Veyron model had some negatives when it comes to the driving position and its heavy curb weight.

Chiron would have three hundred times more power than Veyron. If the technical aspects quoted above holds true, then the Chiron would be the fastest car in the entire world.

Because of its high and powerful performance compared to the Veyron, the car values up to $2.2 million, as indicated by news reports. And that's just the base price. The hybrid model they are preparing may be more expensive.

If you're interested to buy the Chiron but are not listed in Bugatti's A-listers then you have to wait until the car will be featured in the Geneva Motor Show set for 2016.
