Dalai Lama did not curse

It should be known that the Dalai Lama did not indeed curse at a Brown University event, the school swears — even if closed captioning being released with a live video presented differently.

The exiled Tibetan leader was calling upon listeners on Wednesday night to reflect upon and share his thoughts and insight with those around them. If not, he reminded, they could "forget" it.

However, an individual transcribing the Dalai Lama's comments for closed captioning misheard the word "forget" for a profanity, a university spokeswoman said.

The closed captioning on a large screen at the Rhode Island Convention Center transcribed the remark as "f*** it."

Many in the audience listening likewise perceived that the Dalai Lama and that the misunderstanding could be attributed to his strong accent. Similar questions have come up regarding similar comments in other venues. More than 5600 of the audience members broke out in laughter. So audience listen up with clean ears!
