Gilmore Girls Are Coming Back To Netflix

After rumors and spoilers have circulated, Netflix has officially announced that the Gilmore Girls TV series are coming back this season. The largest provider of on-demand Internet streaming media is reviving the popular series and it will still be the original cast who will play their roles.

Gilmore Girls started in the small screen in 2000 and lasted for seven seasons. It stars Lauren Graham, Kelly Bishop, Scott Patterson, Sean Gunn, Alexis Bledel, and Keiko Agena.

The final deal was signed by Warner Bros. and the new series will be written by Amy Sherman Palladino and Daniel Palladino, who will also serve as the show's executive producer.

In a special video message for the show's fans, Lauren Graham said "We haven't even started shooting and I haven't even seen any of the scripts." On January 29, Gilmore Girls won the 2016 New Now Next TV Honoree Award.

"All I can tell you is it is because of you, the devoted fans, that I get to revisit this character and go back to this world. And we are all so excited and so thankful," she added.

Previously, Amy Palladino departed from the show because of a dispute with Warner Bros. She had been against the way the previous Gilmore Girls series had ended.

Graham played the role of Lorelai Gilmore in the TV series from 2000 to 2007. She has recently completed the sixth and final season of 'Parenthood' produced by NBC in 2015.

She was must have been amazed that the fans must really want this show for them to clamor for its return. Graham also remarked that the enthusiasm and joy that outpoured from the fans are very humbling and very much appreciated.

And when reminded of the 40 days doing night work, she exclaimed "Oh yeah! I remember this job!"
