U.S. President Barrack Obama is all up for creating better and greener jobs for his countrymen by promoting an extension of national production tax credit on wind power. Americans can now turn to the wind power industry and find more jobs in the sector if the tax credit extension is approved, reported Jobspectrum.
The current tax credit stands at 2.2 cents per kilowatt-hour that shall soon come to expire by the end of the year.
Wind power is a great and green way of earning money. The industry has shown rapid growth in the past five years.
Approximately 1,100 jobs are spawned by a single wind farm thus generating revenue of $10 million, Jobspectrum stated.
With the rise of wind farms, the number of manufacturers and wholesalers selling turbines and other parts has also increased.
The new policy could have a positive effect on the industry and its players reported Jobspectrum.
Michel Olson, vice president of Zephyr Wind Energy said to Billign Gazette, "The extension of the production tax credit is critical to ensuring continued investment in a broader energy portfolio in our country"
While many senators are with the president, the issue has been gathering some reverse arguments as well, reported Jobspectrum.
Wind energy is a greener, cleaner and a much simpler way of earning and gaining employment. Experts believe that the sector could help turn tables for the economy of the country. The sector could bring along some "windy" opportunities for the people of America.
A forum will discuss the issue at the MSU Billings' Downtown campus, Thursday, December 13, stated Billings Gazette.
